Author's Note: I have been enjoined from sharing the details of my true romance adventure until such time that the other party is prepared to present her perspective on the affair arrangement...Pointer

My plane touched down in Poland on June 20th. A month later I was in Austria. Two days later, Slovenia. The next day, Croatia. A week later, Italy. The next day, Switzerland. The next day, France. The next day, Germany. The next day, Belgium. The next day, Holland. All with a woman I had met my first weekend on the Continent.

I had come to Europe to experience European naturism, a movement whose philosophy matched my aesthetic of body acceptance and whose organizational structure and leadership I had thought almost exclusively restricted to the western half of the continent. I was shocked to learn that naturism had an official home in Poland, a country not especially known for its liberal culture. I was less shocked to discover that the home was owned by a Dutchman, but even more shocked to learn that it had been largely built by Margo.

Being from America, all I had to do in Europe was turn on the radio to hear an American song. All I had to do was walk into a movie theater to see an American movie. To be understood all I had to do was speak English. Being from Poland, she couldn't stand listening to the radio for all the political nonsense being bandied about. She didn't like watching American movies because she claimed they all ended the same way. She didn't want to speak English with me because she not only wanted to say things correctly but she wanted to say them her way and nobody had ever succeeded in teaching her how. I desperately wanted to understand. She wanted to be understood.

As far apart culturally as we may have been, we spent 6,000 miles in one car. We spent over 40 nights in one tent. We started learning how to listen to each other. We started learning how to accept our differences and how to let them help us instead of driving us apart. Slowly but surely, we started learning how to beat the devils that abuse us.

One of Margo's pictures from our trip across Europe.

THE DISAPPEARING WOMAN, THE DISAPPEARING MAN...Pointer

a collection of modern art prints and posters

During our trip across Europe, Margo very bravely opened up to me and to the camera. It was a difficult thing to do considering the scars that she carries. I wanted to share with the world her often joyful, often sad, often angry but always liberating experience except that the Internet is full of pictures of naked women and men and full of trolls who abuse them.

I realized that what I really need to point out is not the openness that Margo and I cultivated between ourselves, but the darkness that continues to surround us. When I censor nudity, I do so in a way that does not compromise the integrity of the human body. In censoring the photographs that Margo and I took during our trip, I was quick to notice that in those pictures where Margo was at her most open, at her most unguarded and most relaxed, in a word, when she was herself and basking in the sun I was forced to blacken her completely.

Why does our society drive people into darkness? Why can we not accept ourselves as we are? Why can we not accept our bodies? Have we truly become eunuchs? Or are we capable of defying the sickness that pits us against each other? Together we could conquer the devils that abuse us.

Whether you enjoy being nude or not, whether you've been photographed nude or not, but especially if, for you, like for Margo, it's something you never thought you would do, consider submitting your own photograph to be published in a censored manner as a form of protest against the ubiquitous presence of the human body on the internet, naked or not, that is published and duplicated ad infinitum without context and without regard for the identity or the needs of the individual being depicted.

Michal's Dictionary:
All about Goddamn

Capitalism describes a system of asset management which relies on the ownership of fuel.

To own something is to be responsible for it. That is to say, you have seniority over its management. To the extent that your management is not affecting the management of somebody else's fuel, nobody can force you to dispose of your fuel in a way you do not wish.

Seniority under the capitalist regime is generally recognized whenever somebody produces a fuel or is the first to claim possession of a naturally occurring fuel.

The problem with most fuels is that they produce fumes. Those fumes have a tendency to drift. When they drift into the possession of a man with very little fuel, and that man is a smart man, he will try to burn those fumes to make a living. Sometimes the man responsible for the original fuel has a problem with this. He think it infringes upon his seniority. He tends not to realize that by trying to contain the fumes he increases the likelihood of an explosion. This explosion is popularly called rebellion, revolution, crime, or terrorism, depending on the specific circumstances that are generated by the people who tend to consider other people primarily as fuels rather than as people. This tendency is not inherent to capitalism. It is a cultural choice passed down from one generation to the next. It is a choice you and I make on our own.

Appearance of Goddamn in The Gospel of Jesus H.

A picture of the planet Mars

An experimental science fiction Christology that makes Jesus the hard boiled narrator of his own early years on a bizarro earth made dark by volcanic ash and informally ruled by a man from Mars who sells bottled air.

Your paternal grandfather's greatest moments came with his worst, most ambitious failures. In courts of all systems, from Europe to the United States, on his wife's behalf, he brought suits against the Polish Health Service for failing to inform her parents that their beautiful but unborn child was, unfortunately, asthmatic, thereby preventing her beloved parents from choosing to be merciful in a world of no mercy by preventing such a fetus from ever being born into a world where the very air would make her suffer interminably. If not for the negligence of the Polish Health Service, her parents would've spared their daughter this pain and misery that now she must suffer every single goddamn day of her life. They would've done what any reasonable person would have done: like the great bonus paterfamilias, they would've aborted her! They would've thrown her into the trash bin like any truly loving parent would have done - but, now that she was alive and suffering, the Polish Health Service was to blame: for his wife's wrongful life, she must now be compensated!

Verse 56 from the chapter called Adolescence

So they did. One store was finally rented out, by order of the local court. The small store, which Jesus had manned, was not. Jesus wished he could open it. He still had the goddamn keys - but what could he do? Nothing: Jesus was fucked. He had no documents; no money for documents; no source of income. All he had was one American passport that was soon to be expired. Without documents, there was no way of getting legitimate work. So he started giving lessons in English for five dollars an hour.

Verse 364 from the chapter called Adolescence

"Absolutely not," said Jesus. "Tell him that. Tell him that we're pulling out if he says a single goddamn word to anyone."

Sapper saluted. "So be it," he said, and left.

Verses 246-247 from the chapter called Security

"You did, you motherfucker, you did! Who was your goddamn supplier?" I said.

Verse 788 from the chapter called Adolescence

"Your goddamn uncle was supposed to pick you up," she said. "He's probably drunk."

NIKE: Goddamn jesus fucking christ. It's a fucking zoo out here: fuckin' freak show.

INDIE: Are you on La Reine Margo?

DOC: They will be painful for some time, so you must avoid all genital contact.

NIKE: What?

DOC: We will have to see whether your testes were able to survive the exposure.

NIKE: What?

DOC: You may have been sterilized.

NIKE: What are you doin'? Roll down the fucking window.

NIKE: Don't worry about it, Rothko. I've got everything figured out. If this woman's a nun, like I think she might be, then she has friends from different orders; or, maybe, she has heirlooms - who knows? Anyway: I've mapped out all the convents west of the river. Love is the answer...

What are we waiting for? Let's accept it!

Are you a eunuch?

The art show that defies abuse

St. Sebastian

Wall art symbolizing strength and protest

St. Sebastian was a member of the Roman Emperor's praetorian guard who had the audacity to teach Christian values while on the job. I think active duty American military men and women who don't vote or who don't publicly express a political opinion because of the uniform are either being idiotic or are being cowed by the threat of punishment from a superior. Either way, they're eunuchs. My purpose in creating the St. Sebastian Series is to put the flesh and face of the true soldier front and center. The good soldier puts his mission ahead of himself. He often ends up dead. The true soldier knows a bad mission when he sees one and he isn't afraid to say it. Saint Sebastian was not a cow, despite what clever people would have you believe. Saint Sebastian is a patron saint for all protestors who face the arrows of the mob for speaking out.
